Help Roberto
Philanthropic Campaign
My senior design team created the web-based, philanthropic campaign to raise awareness and funds for a young boy with a life threatening disorder, Congenital Insensitivity to Pain with Anhidrosis (CIPA).
Using traditional campaigning, press kits and HelpRoberto.com, the campaign is already internationally acknowledged, locally awarded and has exceeded our initial goal of $250,000.
I was fortunate enough to work with two talented designers, Chris Micek and Max Page, to build, publicize and analyze the Help Roberto campaign. It was a wonderful learning experience and combined team effort. Max created the great logo and helped Chris develop the amazing website. I headed up the print materials to publicize the site and make it the epicenter of the campaign.
The media packets included a brochure, postcard and some other informative pages on our Help Roberto letterhead. We sent those to local newspaper, television and radio stations asking for their help in spreading Roberto's story. The brochure was the most informative print piece, giving an explanation of CIPA, sharing Roberto's story and giving a face to the disorder. And, as always, each piece urged the reader to visit the website for more information and donations. The cards were also placed in local businesses gracious enough to help spread the word.
HelpRoberto.com is still live and the campaign still running. We worked with Roberto's mother and Nicole Gebhardt throughout the entire creation process, and set the site up so they can add blog updates to keep everyone posted on the latest in Roberto's life.
